Connect with this image emotionally, and set a strong intention of what you could become. Remember, the more vivid you can see it, or even feel it, the closer you'll be to making it a reality!
What Would Your Life Look Like if You Embraced Your Future Self?
Now take that imagery to a different level. Imagine all of this happening so that you see yourself in your favorite outfit feeling proud and confident. Envision the joy and excitement that will be emanating from you as you embrace the ideal you. Now this is more than just a fleeting imagination; it's actually about living your future life inside your daily life.
What kinds of choices would that person make?.
How would you feed your body?
What would you be doing?
How will you feed your mind, and also your spirit?
This one really pushes the mind to go beyond just physical changes but will dive deep into understanding lifestyle and mindset changes that come along with having reached health goals. Identifying Emotional Chains That Hold You Back from Your Health Goals
So what's in the way? Let's take a look. So often we're presented with opposing emotions - anxiety, sadness, frustration, and many more. These emotions really keep us from making good choices and taking good action.
Recognizing these emotional chains are necessary to help you move forward. Reflect on a difficult time when you found yourself pushing back against where you were in your health journey. What was the emotional toll for you during that time? Were you anxious about not meeting your goals? Or feeling sorrowful over setbacks?
Be kind to yourself without judgment. The past has passed.
First, acknowledging these emotions starts to address the process. Becoming aware of your experiences allows you to overcome them. Thinking of how you’d rather be, opens the door to your options. Then you can make small changes and observe how you feel as you break through the chains that have held you back.
Digging Deeper into Your Emotions: Influence Your Health Choices
Let's take a moment to dig a little deeper into our feelings and how they influence our behaviors. For example, when you're feeling stressed or tired, it can often lead you to make unhealthy choices. I want you to take a moment to reflect on what might be an emotion driving those behaviors. Is it sadness, loneliness, fear, anger, frustration or something else?
Notice, as you go deeper into this exercise, where in your body you feel these emotions occurring. To some, loneliness may feel like a gut feeling: tightness or discomfort. For others it may be in the heart, a heaviness, perhaps a fast pulse. Find where it is in your body: your belly, leg, arm, neck, head, heart or maybe your back?
How To Question Yourself
Close your eyes, quiet your mind, and tune into that emotion, where you feel it. Now just ask it, "Why are you here? How have you served me?" Listen, wait for a response. Understand the purpose of those feelings and how they can be transformed.
Every emotion, no matter what it may be, has a purpose. Valuable lessons may be learned when we take the time to understand them. You will open doors to a more profound understanding of your emotional landscape by engaging with these questions.
This process can help explain why you feel certain ways in different situations and how it relates to the decisions you will make. You can use this knowledge to help change your thinking toward a more positive, balanced focus. Welcome this process of discovery-it is a vital action in the development of a more fulfilling relationship with yourself!
Transform Negative Emotions to Powerful Ones
Let's start by working to replace those feelings that no longer serve you with better, more empowering feelings. If sadness or worry has been consuming you, which emotion would feel better? Starting now envision your replacement feeling from loneliness to happiness, from feeling sad to feeling confident, whatever it is for you. Imagine you are in control of your emotions as you choose feelings that align with how you truly want to be, and show up with these feelings.
